Weddings

The University of Portsmouth looks forward to helping make your wedding day or birthday a very memorable experience.

We offer a choice of unique settings as well as a variety of function rooms, catering choices, bars and accommodation.

Dennis Sciama Building
Located within 200m of the Portsmouth Registry Office, the ground floor area can accommodate 150 for a seated meal or 200 standing. There is a bar and the space and facilities for music. Available on weekends only.

Portland Building
Also located within 200m of the Portsmouth Registry Office, the ground floor Atrium space can accommodate 150 for a seated meal or 200 standing. The ground floor has a crisp modern white finish and a glass ceiling four floors above plus a private outdoor area. Available on weekends only.

Rees Hall
Located on Southsea seafront, the venue offers an informal dining experience for 150 people. Rees Hall has views across Southsea Common, courtyard garden, bar and accommodation. Available from June to August only.

The 3rd Space
This building houses the Student Union during term time and is the largest space in the University. We can cater for 300 seated and over 500 standing, utilising The 3rd Space on the first floor and the student bar on the ground floor and outside area. This venue is ideal for large groups and is available in June to August.
